Public website

An institution website that is generated from the records you already keep

A themed public site carrying your notices, news, faculty, gallery, events and academic calendar — and a result checker, if you publish results. It is generated from the records your office already maintains, so a notice published to guardians is a notice on the website, and nobody has to remember to update two places.

What you get

  • It updates itself

Notices, news and events reach the site from the records you already keep, rather than needing a second copy maintained by whoever has the password.

  • Sections you switch on

Faculty, gallery, results, calendar, events and donations are optional. Turn on the ones you want a public page for and leave the rest off.

  • Your own domain

Start on an iskooll.com address and move to your institution's own domain when you have one. The canonical address follows, so search engines do not see two sites.

  • Pages you write yourself

Add your own pages — history, admission rules, whatever your institution needs to publish — alongside the generated sections.

  • Online admissions from the site

Parents apply from your public site, or upload a filled-in printed form, and the application arrives with documents and photo attached for your office to review.

  • Findable by design

Every page carries a canonical address, a social preview card and a sitemap entry, and new pages are submitted to search engines when they are published.

How it works

  1. Switch the site on

Enable the website from settings. It goes live once the platform has approved it, which is what stops half-built sites being indexed.

  2. Choose a theme and the sections

Pick a theme, add your logo and cover image, and decide which optional sections have a public page.

  3. Publish through your normal work

A notice published to the public reaches the site. News stories get their own permanent address, which is the part search engines value most.

  4. Move to your own domain

Point your domain at the site when you are ready. Visitors on the old address still arrive, and the canonical address moves with you.

Questions people ask

Is the website included, or extra?

A public site is part of what an iSkooll account does. The optional sections — faculty, gallery, results, calendar, events, donations — are switches, and switching them on costs nothing.

Can we use our own domain name?

Yes. You can start on an iskooll.com address and move to your own domain later; the site's canonical address moves with it so you do not lose the search ranking you have built.

Do we have to write the whole site ourselves?

No. The sections are generated from records you already keep — notices, faculty, events, the academic calendar. You add your own pages only where you want to say something the records do not.

Can parents apply for admission from the website?

Yes. They apply online, or upload a filled-in printed form, and it arrives as one application with documents and photo for your office to review and convert into a student.

Will our site be found on Google?

The site is built to be crawlable: a canonical address on every page, a sitemap, social preview cards and automatic submission of newly published pages. Nobody can promise a ranking, and we do not — but nothing technical is standing in the way.
